Matt is one of the founders and Managing Partner of accident legal, a leading Queensland compensation law firm that continues to grow with offices in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Logan. He has over 30 years of experience specialising in insurance litigation and personal injury law, with particular expertise in workers compensation law, medical negligence, motor vehicle accident compensation, and product & public liability claims.

Matt’s extensive experience spanning more than three decades in the legal profession has earned him widespread recognition, with rankings in the national Doyle’s Guide and Best Lawyers lists in 2025 and previous years. Since his admission as a lawyer in 1995, Matt has practised almost exclusively in personal injury and insurance litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. This dual perspective provides clients with a unique advantage in navigating the complexities of personal injury claims.

Matt began his professional career representing insurance companies in personal injury claims, which enabled him to understand the strategies, tactics, and concerns that worry insurers. This invaluable insight helps Matt ensure his clients maximise the compensation they receive. With a client-focused approach, Matt works closely with each client to personalise their claim and ensure they understand and remain actively involved throughout the litigation process.

Outside the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, whether cheering from the sidelines at school sports, enjoying days at the beach, watching his favourite rugby union and rugby league teams, or maintaining his fitness at the gym.
